The Rotaract Global Model United Nations is one of the most important youth forums organized for young leaders. It was hosted in 2016 by Rotaract Club Sofia-Serdika and SofMUN Foundation in partnership with the Diplomatic Institute.

The Model United Nations (MUN) is the world's most widespread academia for young leaders, enjoying wide public and international support under the auspices of the UN, the EU and other international organizations.
Its essence is simulation of the work of UN, EU and other international organizations in a real environment and as close as possible to their true work. The UN Model conferences around the world are traditionally meetings of young diplomats who are trained and prepared for their future role in global international relations.

Participants in such conferences take the most promising and active young professionals, selected through a special selection at regional and international level. Each participant in the conference elects and takes part in a predetermined UN body, EU and / or other international organization and represents a predetermined country (as a rule - never a native) of predefined topics. The objective is that each participant learns about the work of the bodies of the UN, the EU and / or other international organizations in which it participates, to study in detail the state it represents (external and internal policies, economic, social and political parameters) and to enter as a real diplomat. The preparation of each future delegate shall be at least two months in which it shall be prepared either individually or through consultations by university centers, diplomatic missions and other organizations directly linked to themes to be debated at a time at the conference.
The purpose of such conferences is to make participants familiar with the UN, EU and other international organizations in real terms; to act as delegates, presidents and observers during sessions; to take decisions and present resolutions. Such an event, in the best and most accurate way possible, draws attention to the work of global and regional organizations; stimulates further knowledge in the field of international relations and diplomacy; allows development in the field of international relations.
In UN simulations, the EU and other international organizations take part in the selection of specially selected excellent students and young professionals, university centers, public institutions from all over the world. Typically, the simulation takes place within one week and takes the name of the host city, thus linking the event with the city, and for the duration of its entire conduct, draws the attention of almost the whole world to the place of simulation - educational, tourist and commercial .
More than 150 UN models are organized annually in almost all capitals and major cities of Europe, Asia, South and North America

During the 4th edition in Sofia there were participants from 4 different continents.
